Abstract
PURPOSE: A corrosionproof paint composition forming a tough coat with excellent corrosion proofness on the surface of a metal such as steel or castings, which is pref. by mixing a resin composition with a flat, fine plastic powder and a glass flake.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepd. by mixing 100pts.wt. resin composition such as an epoxy resin or a mixture of an unsaturated polyester resin and a curing agent, with 5W10pts.wt. flat fine plastic powder such as flat vinylidene chloride or PE of average thickness ≤50μm and average length ≤1,000μm, and 5W100pts.wt. glass flake such as one of average thickness 0.5W5μm and average size 100W1,000μm. The composition can form a tough coat excellent in physical properties, particularly in corrosion proofness on the surface of a metal such as steel or castings. It is possible to enhance corrosion proofness by additionally incorporating a corrosionproof pigment such as a flat metal powder.
