Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit a smooth flow of powder and a continuous feeding of a highly viscous powder by extending a rotating shaft so operative as to enter the interior of a flared pipe with blades provided thereon and with the diameter thereof gradually reduced from the end of the screw into the interior of the flared pipe. CONSTITUTION:The forward portion of a shaft 6a of a lower screw 6 is provided with the same diameter up to the base of a flared pipe 7 and also a forward shaft portion 6b extending from the base of the flared pipe 7 into the interior thereof is formed into a conical shape tapering to the end. A screw blade 6d is also provided successively from a screw blade 6c formed spirally on the shaft 6a of the lower screw 6 to the forward shaft portion 6b and the diameter of the blade 6d is converged to zero at a forward point of the shaft 6b. The axial size of the forward shaft portion 6b is set at approximately 1/3 the axial size L of the flared pipe 7. Air outlets 7c and 7d are provided at two places near a base portion 7a of the inner surface of the flared pipe 7 to inwardly blow air into an axially forward side thereof, thereby improving the fluidity of powder in the flared pipe to create a smooth flowing thereof.
