Abstract

PURPOSE:To rapidly remove a bundling member, by a method wherein a bifurcated pawl body is reversely rotated at the side part of a package after the bundling member is taken by the bifurcated pawl member to weaken the winding force of the bundling member and the bundling member wound around the bifurcated pawl body is removed while the bifurcated pawl body is allowed to rise. CONSTITUTION:When a package 2 is placed at the opening position 7 of a feed apparatus 18, the package 2 is pushed by a push apparatus 14 and laterally moved until brought into contact with a holding apparatus 18 and a bifurcated pawl body 10 falls to be inserted in a bundling member 4 binding the package 2. When the bifurcated pawl body 10 is allowed to fall by predetermined quantity, said bifurcated pawl body 10 is rotated to take up the bundling member 4. When the taking-up of the bundling member 4 is completed, the bifurcated pawl body 10 is reversely rotated and the bundling member 4 is brought into contact with the side surface of the package 2 to act unwinding force thereon and the winding force of the bundling member wound around the bifurcated pawl body 10 is weakened. After predetermined reverse rotation, the bifurcated pawl body is raised to be inserted through the removing member 32 provided to the upper part of the rising and falling position and, during this time, the bundling member 4 is squeezed out from the bifurcated pawl body 10.
