Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled foam having uniform foam cell, by kneading high temperature-kneaded product of vinyl chloride based polymer and carbon monoxide copolymer with low temperature-kneaded product of carbon monoxide copolymer and chemical foaming agent at low temperature, molding the kneaded product and subjecting the resultant unfoamed moldings to foaming with crosslinking. CONSTITUTION:A kneaded product obtained by kneading 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride based polymer with a carbon monoxide copolymer (copolymer consisting of ethylene, ethylenic unsaturated organic monomer and carbon monoxide), preferably of 40-150pts.wt. under high temperature and high shear is kneaded with a kneaded product obtained by kneading the carbon monoxide copolymer, preferably of 10-50pts.wt. and chemical foaming agent (e.g. azodicarbon amide) at the decomposition temperature or below (preferably 100-120 deg.C) of the above- mentioned chemical foaming agent at low temperature and the kneaded product is molded to afford unfoamed moldings which are then subjected to foaming with crosslinking to provide the aimed foamed product.
