Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce step-in working force of a clutch by controlling a magnetic field current in the field coil of a commutatorless motor so as to be positively decreased only when a step-in operation of the clutch is performed, in case the commutatorless motor is functioning as an AC synchronous generator. CONSTITUTION:A charging mechanism 10 of an engine provides an armature 18 in an engine main unit side and a rotating field pole 13 in a rotary member 3 of flywheel or the like integrally formed with a crankshaft 1a. While a magnetic member 16, provided in the engine main unit side, mounts a field coil 15 to be wound for exciting the rotating field pole 13 surrounding the member 16 and the rotary member 3. In case of the charging mechanism 10 obtained by arranging a clutch device 6 in the vicinity of the field coil 15, when a clutch step-in operation is detected by a detecting means 40, a control means 41 controls a field current regulating means 25 so as to decrease a flow of current in the field coil 15, weakening magnetic attracting force acting on the clutch device 6.
