Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a vinyl chloride resin compsn. which can provide a molded product having a smooth surface and is excellent in alkali resistance, by blending a vinyl chloride resin with needle-like calcium carbonate having a specified particle size. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is obtd. by blending 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin with 30-100pts.wt. calcium carbonate consisting of needle-like particles, 0.2-0.5mum in length and 0.05-0.1mum in width. The above-mentioned calcium carbonate, despite its being in the form of such fine particles, undergoes no secondary coagulation when kneaded with the vinyl chloride resin, and is excellent in the dispersibility in the resin. Accordingly, the molded product obtd. has no granular structure (surface projections) occurring on its surface. The molded product, with no need for surface treatment with a lubricant, undergoes no reaction even in contact with an alkaline water, nor is the vinyl chloride resin compsn. lowered in its electrical or mechanical characteristics.
