Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an underwater antifouling coating agent having a small slip angle on a film surface and an excellent antifouling property, by mixing a specified copolymer with an antifouling agent and a surface lubricant. CONSTITUTION:An underwater antifouling coating agent of a viscosity at 25 deg.C <=150P is obtained by diluting 5-80wt.% polymer of at least one monomer (a) of the formula (wherein X is H or methyl, n is 2-4, and m is an average degree of polymerization and is 70 or above) and/or copolymer of monomer (a) with 95wt.% or below vinyl polymerizable monomer (b) copolymerizable therewith (e.g., methyl methacrylate) and having a weight-average MW of 1,000-1,500,000, 0.1-65wt.% antifouling agent (e.g., N- trihalomethylthiophthalimide) and, optionally, 1-70wt.% surface lubricant (e.g., paraffin wax) with an organic solvent (e.g., xylene).
