Abstract

PURPOSE:To recharge a secondary cell efficiently until a proper voltage level is achieved regardless of recharged state of the secondary cell, by providing a voltage detection circuit for disabling - V detection control function while the terminal voltage of the recharging secondary cell is lower than a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:A secondary cell 3 is recharged with constant current through a constant current circuit 2. Variation of terminal voltage of the secondary cell 3 is monitored through a - V detection control circuit 40, and when variation of the terminal voltage of the secondary cell 3 with time transits from positive to negative, the constant current circuit 2 is stopped to finish recharging. Terminal voltage of the secondary cell 3 is also monitored through a voltage detection circuit 5 and the - V detection control circuit 40 is disabled while the terminal voltage of the secondary cell is lower than a predetermined stable level. Consequently, erroneous finish of recharging due to fluctuation of recharging voltage in initial recharging stage can be prevented efficiently.
