Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the charge period of a battery and to prevent the shortening of the life of the battery due to over-discharge, by changing over battery-absence detection voltage between during image forming operation and during non-operation when the charge period of a secondary battery is detected. CONSTITUTION:The inputs P0, P1 of a microcomputer 101 are connected to the output terminals of comparators 106, 107, and battery voltage and stable voltage are inputted to the input terminals of the comparators 106, 107. When an operating part 102 is pushed, the microcomputer 101 performs a copy sequence and, when both of the ports P0, P1 are a low level and the absence of a battery is detected, charge display is performed after copy is finished and, in the case of the presence of the battery, a command stand-by state is obtained. When the port P0 becomes a low level during stand-by and the absence of the battery detected, charge display is performed. As mentioned above, by changing over detection voltage between during copy and during stand-by, the over-discharge of the battery is prevented.
