Abstract

PURPOSE:To omit adjustment of a gap between rollers in double-feed check of paper leaves having the different thicknesses, by measuring an output voltage from a voltage output means based on the movement of a lever. CONSTITUTION:When a paper leaf 1 passes between a movable roller 4 and a fixed roller 5, the roller 4 is moved by the thickness of the paper, and a lever 9 is moved. Then, a voltage, which is proportional to the moving angle of the lever 9, is outputted from a voltage output means 10. In general, the paper leaf has the ordinary thickness of 0.2mm or less. The output voltage for the thickness can be linearly determined with the output means 10 within said range. The voltage is measured, and the thickness of the paper leaf can be measured. When the double-feed detecting preset value in correspondence with the kind of the paper leaf 1 is determined, the thickness of the paper leaf 1 having the different thickness can be checked. The adjustment of a gap is not required. The paper leaves 1 of a plurality of the different kinds can be checked.
