Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve magnetic characteristics by containing a ferromagnetic R2Fe14B phase (R represents one kind or more of rare earth elements including Y) at a specific rate. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic R2Fe14B phase 1 (R represents one kind or more of rare earth elements containing Y) is included at the rate of 95vol.%< the R2Fe14B phase<98vol.%. Hydrogen is occluded into a rare earths-iron-boron magnet alloy raw material, in which there are three phases of the ferromagnetic R2Fe14B phase 1, a non-magnetic phase (an R rich phase 2) further abundant in rare earth elements and a non-magnetic phase (a B rich phase 3) abundant in boron, under conditions of a temperature of 20-650 deg.C and hydrogen partial pressure of 1X10<-3>-760Torr, and hydrogen is discharged under conditions of the temperature of 20-650 deg.C and pressure of 1X10<-3>Torr or less. The rare earths-iron-boron magnet alloy raw material is crushed to fines, and the crushed magnet fines are magnetically separated to be cleared of the R rich phase and the B rich phase not bonded with the R2Fe14B phase. Accordingly, magnetic characteristics are improved.
