Abstract

PURPOSE:To make constant the pressing force even by a non-circular roller by furnishing a means to sense the pressure by a pickup roller and a means to sense the phase, and by controlling so that the pressing force will be constant when a specific phase of the pickup roller is sensed. CONSTITUTION:When a pickup roller 5 is in non-circular form, its contacting phase with a sheet 7 varies, and the phase is sensed by a phase sensing means 8. A photo-shutter plate 12 in the same form as a pinch roller 5 is installed on the shaft 3 of a feed roller 1 rotating together with the pickup roller 5, and a sensor 13 is provided for sensing contact of the max. protruding part 5-1 of the pickup roller 5 with the banknote, and thus contact is detected by the photo-shutter plate 12. Contact of the max. protruding part 5-1 of pickup roller 5 with the banknote is sensed by the sensor 13, and the phase sensor 8 senses the roller 5 is lower situated, and now a push plate 15 is lifted.
