Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetostatic wave resonator to realize a high Q and low frequency fluctuation, by forming a ring-shaped magnetic thin film on a substrate, impressing a DC magnetic field, and inputting an electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION:A microwave generated by a negative resistance oscillator 23 is introduced to a YIG thin film 21 by a transducer 22. Since the DC magnetic field is impressed on the YIG thin film 21 by a magnetic field applying device 24, the magnetostatic wave of a surface magnetostatic wave mode is generated. The magnetostatic wave is received by the transducer 22, and is returned to the negative resistance oscillator 23. Thus, oscillation occurs at a frequency with which the magnetostatic wave resonates. The oscillator oscillates at the microwave with the frequency decided by the strength of the magnetic field and the dimension of the YIG thin film 21. Thus, it is possible to obtain the magnetostatic wave resonator to realize the high Q and the low frequency fluctuation.
