Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable stable dispersion of small bubbles in a liquid medium, by blasting an oxygen-containing culture gas through a filter having a specific pore size into a liquid medium containing cells. CONSTITUTION:A closable cylindrical culture vessel 1 is supported with an essentially horizontal axis X. A tube 5 composed of a filter having a pore size of <=100mum is placed in the culture vessel 1 along its axis X. The culture vessel 1 is filled with a liquid medium containing cells, closed and rotated around the axis X. An oxygen-containing culture gas is blasted into the medium through the tube 5.
