Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain high pattern accuracy by forming the titled color filter by a black matrix pattern of a black ink layer which has been patterned by a photolithographic system ion a transparent substrate, and a color pattern which is provided on its gap by a printing system, and also, whose end part is overlapped to the black matrix pattern. CONSTITUTION:When a combination of a resist layer 3 and a black ink layer 2 is constituted so that the resist layer 3 is soluble in a petroleum compound solvent, and the black ink layer 2 is soluble in alkali or an acid, the photoresist layer 3 and the black ink layer 2 can be brought to patterning separately, therefore, an optimum processing condition can be set to the respective layers. That is, only the photoresist layer 3 on the black ink layer 2 is patterned, and thereafter, the black ink layer is patterned by an etching liquid which does not dissolve the resist layer 3 but dissolves only the black ink layer 2. As a result, comparing with the case when the resist layer 3 and the black ink layer 2 have the same solubility, and for instance, both the layers are soluble in alkali, a pattern whose streak shape is sharp, and also, whose resolving power is high is obtained. In such a way, a color filter having high pattern accuracy can be formed.
