Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional stability at comparatively low temperature by a method wherein biaxially oriented polyester film is taken up in a roll under the state that specified ratio of air layer is interposed between film layers and, after that, the resultant taken-up film is subjected to retention treatment at specified ambient temperature for not less than specified period of time. CONSTITUTION:The polyester concerned is made of acid component mainly consisting of aromatic dicarboxylic acid and glycol component mainly consisting of aliphatic glycol and is linear and has film-forming property. As the aromatic dicarboxylic acid, terephthalic acid is used. As the aliphatic glycol, ethylene glycol or the like is used. A biaxially oriented polyester film is obtained by stretching and thermosetting the polyester. The preferable film thickness is 30-80mum. The biaxially oriented polyester film is taken up in a roll under the state that 3-7% of air layer is interposed between film layers. The film taken up in the roll is subjected to retention treatment at an ambient temperature of 40-90 deg.C for 24hr or longer.
