Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly carry out surface treatment for improvement in printability at low manufacturing cost without limiting shape of materials to be printed, by irradiating the surface of a molded article consisting of a polyolefinic polymer with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A printable face of a molded article of a polyethylenic polymer (e.g. medical container made of a polyethylenic polymer by blow molding) which has <=1mm thickness of container wall and unevenness or readily has unevenness is irradiated with ultraviolet rays by a low-pressure mercury vapor lamp of high output having a tube wall consisting of synthetic quartz and subjected to surface treatment. The polymer itself is not required to undergo improvement in printability, a treating device is inexpensive, the treatment can be continuously carried out and manufacturing cost is reduced because of easy production control.
