Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a paper sheet, even when it is short in size and weak in rigidity, to be surely sorted by providing a holding rotary unit which holds the paper sheet to be conveyed receiving conveying force from a conveying path over the conveying path from its front part side to rear part side between the main and branch conveying paths. CONSTITUTION:In a condition that a solenoid 34 is turned off, placing a holding rotary unit 16 in a horizontal condition and a main conveying path 13 and the second branch conveying path 15 in a condition connected in the horizontal direction, here carried-in note 12 is conveyed in the horizontal direction by the holding feed action of the holding rotary unit 16 in this branch part. While in a condition that the solenoid 34 is turned on, pulling up a swivel roller 28 in the rear part side to be tilted at a fixed angle to the upper with a supporting point roller 26 serving as the supporting point, the main conveying path 13 and the first branch conveying path 14 are placed in a condition connected in a tilt direction. Consequently, here in-carried note 12 is conveyed diagonally to the upper by the holding feed action of the holding rotary unit 16. That is, this holding rotary unit 16 has a compound function consisting of a holding conveying function and a branching function.
