Abstract

PURPOSE:To form the titled film having excellent moisture permeability on a substrate, such as various structures, wood, cloth or paper, by emulsion polymerizing a vinyl based monomer in the presence of a specific emulsifying agent and applying the resultant aqueous dispersion onto the substrate. CONSTITUTION:(A) An aqueous dispersion, obtained by emulsion polymerizing (A) a vinyl based monomer, such as methyl acrylate, in the presence of (B) 1-8wt.% emulsifying agent consisting of (i) 60-85wt.% polyoxyalkylene alkyl(phenyl) ether or polyoxyalkylene fatty acid ester and (ii) 40-15wt.% polyalkylene glycol having 800-6,000 average mol.wt. and consisting essentially of an emulsion with 20-70wt.% solid content is applied onto (C) a substrate to form the aimed film having 10-5,000mu thickness.
