Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently use fine powdery reducing agent and to prevent the variation of temp. in a furnace by charging powdery ore from tuyere at upper step and supplying coarse grain carbonic solid reducing agent from the furnace top part and fine powdery reducing agent from tuyeres at upper and lower steps dividedly in the smelting reduction furnace. CONSTITUTION:In the vertical type smelting reduction furnace 1, oxygen-contained gas is blown from the tuyeres 6, 7 arranged at upper and lower two steps through a distributor 8 and fluid bed 2 for the carbonic solid reducing agent at upper part of the furnace 1 and the reducing agent packing layer 3 at lower part are formed. The powdery ore is supplied from the tuyere 6 at the upper step through supplying device 11 and smelted and reduced at high temp. part, to produce the slag layer 4 and the molten metal layer 5 at the furnace bottom. In the above smelting metal producing method, the carbonic solid reducing agent to be changed is classified by a classifying device 12. The reducing agent having 3mm grain size obtd. by this is charged from the supplying hole 17 at furnace top. On the other hand, the reducing agent having 3mm is supplied as distributing into the tuyeres 6, 7 at the upper and lower steps through the distributor 14. By this method, the dispersion of the fine powdery reducing agent from exhaust gas duct 18 is prevented and it is efficiently used and the variety of the temp. in the packing layer 3 is prevented and stable operation is obtd.
