Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce fine spherical powder without any porosity by injecting molten metal on a disk rotating at high speed from a vessel having the specific construction and scattering by centrifugal force and rapidly cooling by high pressure inert gas injected to the outer periphery on the disk. CONSTITUTION:The metal or alloy is charged in a molten metal supplying tube 11 providing an induction type heating device 15 and induction auxiliary heating device 13 and melted by induction-heating. The molten metal in the supplying tube 11 is pressurized by inert gas of Ar, etc., and a molten metal shield plate (carbon-stopper) 12 arranged between the molten metal supplying tube 11 and a molten metal injecting hole 14 is bored by pressure and the molten metal is injected on the disk 2 rotating at high speed from the injecting hole 14. At the same time, by the inert gas curtain injected from many inert gas injecting holes 10 for cooling arranged on the upper part of the disk 2, the molten metal particle scattered by the centrifugal force with rotation of the disk 2 is made to spherical shape by surface tension and rapidly cooled with the inert cooling gas. By this method, the metal fine particle having <=10mum average particle size without any porosity caused by enclosing the gas is obtd.
