Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the titled wire having high strength and high electric conductivity by refining an Al alloy contg. specific amounts of Zr, Cu, Si Fe and Be, subjecting it to casting, reduction working and heat treatment under the specific temp. conditions and thereafter cold working said alloy. CONSTITUTION:The Al alloy composed of, by weight, 0.29-1.0% Zr, 0.01-1.0% Cu, 0.03-0.4% Si, 0.08-0.8% Fe, 0.005-0.5% Be and the balance Al with inevitable impurities is refined. Said alloy is cast at >=5 deg.C/sec cooling rate and is worked at >=70% reduction ratio by the finish temp. of >=200 deg.C as cooled at the cooling rate from 450-580 deg.C to >=5 deg.C/sec. The alloy is then subjected to a heat treatment for 6-250hr at 280-480 deg.C and is thereafter subjected to cold wire drawing at >=60% working ratio to harden the same.
