Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure an accurate flow rate on wide flow rate width by damming up upstream-side flowing water by a dam, and measuring at specified time intervals the water level where the flow velocity is zero at possibly upstream of the opening of the dam. CONSTITUTION:A dam board 10 is fitted airtightly nearby the center of a manhole 3 and then a water stopping material provided to the opening part of an upstream duct 1 is removed. Thus, the following water of the sewage duct is reservoired in the installed dam 6 successively and the water level rises gradually; and the measurement is started when the water surface reaches the lower side part of the opening 11 of the dam 6. The measurement point is on the upstream surface of water close to the opening 11 where the flow velocity is zero. Namely, the probe 20 of a measuring instrument 7 is lowered intermittently to the water surface and its contacting with the water surface is detected and sent as an electric signal to a recorder 20. Then arithmetic operation is carried out by a relational expression according to water level data from the recorder 22 to measure the flow rate. Consequently, the accurate flow rate is measured on wide flow rate width.
