Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain uniform lens characteristics over the entire necessary area without adding special man-hours, by providing a dummy array area outside a microlens array formation area. CONSTITUTION:A photomask 8 for selective exposure has windows 8a formed in an array shape so as to form, for example, about two arrays of dummy lens bodies outside the necessary area (d). This photomask 8 covers a photosensitive film 2, and the entire surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays 6 in the direction shown in a figure (b) to form the microlens array consisting of lens bodies 4. Therefore, the amount of a photopolymerizing material which flows in the lens bodies 4 at the peripheral part of the necessary area (d) is the same as the amount of a monomer M flowing in lens bodies 4 positioned inside them although dummy lens bodies 4' have variation in characteristics. Consequently, the lens characteristics in the necessary area are uniformed.
