This invention relates to a tempo display device in an automatic performance machine (e.g., autorhythm device, auto arpeggio device, auto bass chord device, musical score data reading device, etc.). The present invention relates to a tempo display device that displays a set tempo. The applicant previously proposed an autorhythm device, an auto arpeggio device, and an auto bass chord (A, B, C).
We have proposed a variety of automatic performance machines such as devices and musical score data reading devices. The tempo of automatic performance in these automatic performance machines is determined by a timing signal called a tempo clock or the like. Conventionally, performance tempo setting devices for automatic musical instruments of this type have been configured so that the current tempo setting state continues to be displayed numerically, such as "♪=100", regardless of whether automatic performance is stopped or in progress. ing. By the way, such a tempo display is actually used when trying to set the performance tempo to a value specified in a musical score, etc., and the above tempo display is used when the performance tempo is not set or changed. There are almost no cases where it is necessary. Therefore, the purpose of this invention is to automatically display the tempo only when the performance tempo is set or changed. In order to achieve the above object, this invention drives the tempo display only when the tempo setting operator is being operated. A preferred embodiment of this invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is an overall block diagram showing an example of an automatic performance machine to which this invention is applied. The illustrated device is an electronic keyboard instrument that is equipped with a musical score data reading device and is capable of automatic performance. The details of this device have already been filed in various applications by the applicant, so the entirety will be summarized here. I'll just explain it. In the musical score data memory 1, note names, chord names, note lengths, etc. that constitute the musical score of a piece of music to be automatically played are encoded and stored in the order of performance. Each of these coded data is clocked by the tempo clock by the read control circuit 2.
It is read at a predetermined timing synchronized with TCL,
The signal is supplied to the musical tone forming circuit 3 and converted into a musical tone signal corresponding to the musical score. After this musical tone signal is amplified by the amplifier 4, it is output from the speaker 5, and thus automatic performance is performed. The keyboard 6 is composed of three keys consisting of upper, lower and pedal keys, and the key codes UKC, LKC,
PKC is output. The musical tone forming circuit 7 forms and outputs musical tone signals corresponding to the respective key codes UKC, LKC, and PKC output from the keyboard 6, and this musical tone forming operation can be roughly divided into two types. The first operation is for normal key press operations; for example, if multiple key codes UKC, LKC, and PKC are output from each keyboard at the same time, all of these key codes are converted into respective musical tone signals at the same time. It is something. On the other hand, the second operation is for so-called auto arpeggios, auto bass chord playing techniques, etc., i.e., for example, playing multiple key chords UKC, LKC, PKC at the same time.
is output from each keyboard, these are converted into musical tone signals according to a fixed order and timing. This timing is pattern memory 8
It is determined by various key press timing signals T1 output from the key press timing signal T1. Further, the pattern memory 8 outputs a rhythm timing signal T 2 , and the rhythm sound source 9 is driven by this timing signal T 2 . A series of storage areas are provided in the pattern memory 8, which are sequentially addressed by the output of the counter 10, and each bit of each address corresponds to a key press timing signal T1 and a rhythm timing signal, respectively.
It corresponds to a certain time length of T 2 (for example, 1/64 of a whole note). The counter 10 outputs a "1" pulse (hereinafter referred to as count-up signal CNT) to the carry-out terminal C0 every time the counter 10 counts the tempo clock TCL output from the tempo clock generator 11 by the number corresponding to one measure of the musical score. . The display device 12 displays tempo setting signals SET and start signals output from the tempo clock generator 11.
Based on the start signal start output from the stop control circuit 13 and the count-up signal CNT output from the counter 10, the current tempo is displayed using a tempo numerical value and a tempo slogan. This will be explained later. The start/stop control circuit 13 outputs a start signal start "1" based on the "1" signal from the manual start switch S1 or the synchro start switch S2 , and when the manual start switch S1 is turned on, The start signal start “1” is output unconditionally, and when the synchro start switch S 2 is turned on, the start signal start “1” is output as a condition of the presence of the AKO signal (Any Key On) “1” output from the keyboard 6. ” is output.
This start signal start "1" is then supplied to the read control circuit 2 and the counter 10 to enable them. In this way, this electronic keyboard instrument performs various automatic performances such as automatic melody tones, bass tones, and chord tones, and the tempo of these automatic performances is based on the ramp clock TCL output from the tempo clock generator 11. It is determined. Next, an example of the tempo clock generator 11 and the display device 12 will be explained based on FIGS. 2 and 3. In FIG. 2, 14 is a display device configured with segments so that it can display numbers and characters, 15 is a tempo setting dial for changing the frequency of the tempo clock TCL, and 16 is a dial for changing the display contents of the display device 14. It is a display switching dial,
These display device 14, tempo setting dial 15, and display switching dial 16 are provided, for example, on the clapperboard of an electronic keyboard instrument. In FIG. 3, the variable resistor 17 is driven in conjunction with the rotation of the tempo setting dial 15, and controls the oscillation frequency of the tempo oscillator 18. The tempo oscillator 18 outputs a high-speed clock HCL, and this high-speed clock HCL is divided by a constant frequency division ratio by the frequency dividing circuit 19, and the output is used as the tempo clock.
Becomes TCL. The reference oscillator 20 outputs a reference clock φ having a sufficiently longer period than the high speed clock HCL. The counter 21 is driven in steps by the high speed clock HCL, and
It is reset by the reference clock φ. The number of high-speed clocks HCL included in one cycle of the reference clock φ is successively latched in the latch circuit 22, and the numerical data latched in this latch circuit 22 becomes the tempo data TPD. Here, the tempo data
TPD is numerical data that expresses tempo as the number of standard notes (for example, quarter notes) in one minute. This tempo data TPD is sent to the display drive data DD 1 via the tempo numerical display control circuit 23.
is converted to The comparison data ROM 24 stores comparison data CD indicating the relationship between each tempo motto and tempo value as shown in Table 1.

This data WD is converted into display drive data DD 2 via the tempo motto display control circuit 26. The counter 27 is driven in steps by the count-up signal CNT "1" outputted from the counter 10 shown in FIG. 1, and is enabled by the start signal start "1". Therefore, the counter 27 contains numerical data indicating how many measures the song has progressed to after it started (hereinafter referred to as progress measure data).
FD is formed. And this progression measure data
The FD is converted into display drive data DD 3 via the progress bar number display control circuit 28. The selector 29 selectively outputs any one of the display drive data DD 1 to DD 3 , and when "1" is supplied to the switching control terminal SA, the data is output.
When " 1 " is supplied to the switching control terminal SB, the data DD 2 is supplied to the switching control terminal SC.
When "1" is supplied to DD3, data DD3 is output. Then, the display 14 is driven by the output of the selector 29, and displays either the tempo value, the tempo motto, or the number of progressing bars. The changeover switch 30 is configured to change over in conjunction with the display changeover dial 16, and in the "tempo motto" position, "1" is supplied to the AND gate 31, and in the "progressing measure" position, the AND gate 3 is supplied with "1".
2 is supplied with "1". The contact detection circuit 33 is connected to the tempo setting dial 15
A contact detection signal is generated by detecting contact of a human body, etc.
This is a contact detection signal that outputs TCH “1”.
TCH is connected to AND gate 3 via inverter 34
1 and 32 in parallel. Further, each output of the contact detection circuit 33 and the AND gates 31 and 32 is also supplied to the display 14 as display color switching signals CC 1 to CC 3 . According to the above configuration, when the display switching dial 16 is set to "no display", the contact detection signal SET is "0", that is, when the tempo contact dial 15 is not touched by a finger, etc. Display 1
4 is not displayed, and only when the contact detection signal SET is "1", that is, when a finger etc. is touching the tempo setting dial 15, the tempo at that time is displayed numerically on the display 14, such as ♪ = 100. be done. In other words,
When you touch the tempo setting dial 15 to set the tempo, the tempo is displayed numerically on the display 14, and you can set the tempo while looking at it. Nothing is displayed. On the other hand, the display switching dial 16 is the "tempo motto"
Or when set to “progressing measure”,
When the tempo setting dial 15 is not touched by a finger, etc., the tempo motto is displayed in alpha alphabets, or the number of bars is displayed in arithmetic numbers, and when the tempo setting dial 15 is not touched by a finger, etc. In this state, the tempo value is similarly displayed using arithmetic numerals. In other words, when you touch the tempo setting dial 15 to set the tempo, the currently set tempo is numerically displayed on the display 14, and you can set the tempo precisely while looking at this. When this is not done, the tempo motto or the number of bars in progress is displayed depending on the switching state of the display switching dial 16 at that time. In addition, the display unit 14 has display color switching signals CC 1 to
Since CC 3 is supplied at the same time as display drive data DD 1 to DD 3 , the tempo value, tempo motto, and number of progressing bars are displayed in different colors, and are similarly displayed in arithmetic numerals. Even if the number indicates the tempo value or the number of progressing measures, it can be reliably identified. As is clear from the above description of the embodiment, this invention is designed so that the tempo is displayed only when the tempo setting controller is being operated. The display device can be used for other purposes without causing any problems, and the display device can be used effectively.
