Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize sensible heat of high temperature gas passing through inside an inner tube by disposing an endothermic section on the high temperature gas introducing side of the inner tube and an exothermic section of the raw material gas introducing side of a catalyst layer and providing a heat pipe in which operating liquid is enclosed. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst layer 7 having a double tube structure consisting of an outer tube 2 and an inner tube 6 and filled with catalysts 3 in an annular space disposed between the outer tube 2 and the inner tube 6 is disposed, and raw material gas introduced into the outer tube 2 and passing through the catalyst layer 7 is discharged out through the inside of the inner tube 6. An endothermic section 10a is disposed in a gas flow passing through the inner tube 6 in a heat pipe 10 in which operating liquid (example: cesium) is enclosed, while a heat dissipation section 10b is disposed on the raw material gas introducing side of the catalyst layer 7. In other words, sensible heat of high temperature gas passing through in the inner tube is absorbed by the endothermic section of the heat pipe and heat transferred to the exothermic section of the heat pipe, through which heat is dissipated on the raw material gas introducing side of the catalyst layer to utilize the sensible heat of high temperature gas passing through the inner tube effectively.
