Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an endoscope by separately installing a light source device and an image pickup controller and integrally providing the incident end side of the illuminating light transmitting means of an endoscope and the base end side of a signal transmitting means. CONSTITUTION:The light source device 40 is installed separately from the image pickup controller 50 and a light guide plug 25 is provided on the tip of a universal code 24. And an image pickup signal socket 30 is provided on the side of the plug main body 28 of the light guide plug 25. Then, it is only one universal code 24 that extends from the operation part 23 of the endoscope main body 21. When the light guide plug 25 is connected to the light guide socket 41, an image pickup signal code 53 does not dangle and when the endoscope main body 21 is washed or carried, a cable does not dangle and the plugs do not knock each other.
