Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a layer built capacitor adapted such that even if capacitor function is lost in a shortcircuited unit capacity layer, other normal layers can keep such function, by connecting capacity electrodes formed on dielectric layers with each other through extracting electrodes of a low-melting metal so that each unit layer has fusing function. CONSTITUTION:A layer built capacitor 10 is produced by laying green sheets 16 having a capacity electrode 17, an extracting electrode 18 and a fuse electrode 19 and green sheets 16 having a capacity electrode 21 and an extracting electrode 22 one on another such that the extracting electrodes 18 and 22 are oriented alternately in opposite directions, further overlaying green sheets 16a having no electrodes overlaid thereon and calcining the laminated body. If adjacent capacity electrodes 17 and 21 are short-circuited to conduct current therebetween for example due to deterioration of the dielectric layer between the capacity electrodes 17 and 21, the fusing electrode is fused by Joule heat and diffused into voids 23. Thus, the capacity electrode 17 is disconnected from the extracting electrode 18.
