Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform automatic packing without leaving an excessive space between an article to be packed and a packing container, by parallelly arranging two or more insert members for grasping the article to be packed to insert the same in the packing container and freely regulating the interval between at least two insert members. CONSTITUTION:Draw-in chains 142, 142 are forwardly driven in the direction shown by an arrow (c) and a bag group A clamped by clamp pawls 145, 146 is drawn in between a pair of grasping bars 111, 112 opened by the upward movement of the upper bar 112. When the bag group A is drawn in, the chains 142 are stopped. Simultaneously with this, a clamp lever 131 is moved to grasp the rear end of the bag group A between the lever 131 and the lower bat 111 as shown by an arrow (d) to clamp the bag group A at a predetermined draw-in position. Subsequently, the chains 142 are reversely driven not only to retract the clamp pawls 145, 146 from the gap between a pair of the grasping bars 111, 112 but also to move the same to a position receiving the next bag group A. The upper bar 112 is moved downwardly in such a state that the retraction of the clamp pawls 145, 146 is completed and the bag group A is grasped between a pair of the grasping bars 111, 112 to adjust an interval so as to lower bulk.
