Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a granular silicone rubber suitable as a physical characteristic modifier for various materials, by dispersing a silicone rubber composition consisting of a specific organopolysiloxane, etc., in water and bringing the resultant dispersion into contact with a specific gas or liquid. CONSTITUTION:A silicone rubber composition consisting of (A) an organopolysiloxane having >=2 hydroxyl groups or alkenyl groups linked to silicon atom. in one molecule, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having >=2 hydrogen atoms linked to silicon atom. in one molecule, (C) a curing catalyst and (D) an organosilicon compound expressed by formula I (A is monofunctional organic group containing functional group, such as epoxy group or alkenyl group; R<1> is monofunctional hydrocarbon or H; R<2> is hydrocarbon or H; n is 0-2) is dispersed in water and the resultant dispersion is then brought into contact with a gas or liquid at a higher temperature than that of the water to afford the aimed granular material, containing the organosilicon compound expressed by formula I in a free or chemically boned state and having <=1mm grain diameter.
