Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming device which can precisely execute a specified control action and whose cleaning quality is improved by leaving at least a spot of area on at least either of both side edge parts of an image carrier and processing in a band shape. CONSTITUTION:Leaving at least one spot of a non-processed area 15 on at least either of both side edge parts along the driving direction of the image carrier 13, the process is executed in a band shape. And the position of a combined line 4 is detected by detecting in the non-processed area 15 and a timing control is executed in order not to form images on and near the combined line 4. Processed areas 10 occupy most part of the side edge parts of a photosensitive body and the non-processed area 15 which becomes a mark is locally provided. Thus, a proper sensor can be selected and moreover the malfunction of the sensor by the processed area 10 does not occur, thereby improving reliability in detection. Since the processed areas 10 are provided on the side edge parts of the photosensitive body, the adhesion of toner is reduced and the cleaning quality can be improved.
