Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrolyte tile having high bubble pressure by adding a specific weight ratio of organic fibers to aqueous slurry of lithium aluminate powder and alumina fibers, making a sheet with a paper machine, sintering, then impregnating a carbonate. CONSTITUTION:Lithium aluminate powder, alumina fibers, and 0.2-less than 3wt.% organic fibers are wet-mixed to form aqueous slurry, and the slurry is coagulated, then forming a sheet with a paper machine. The sheet obtained is used as an electrolyte tile supporter for cell construction. The sheet is heated to burn out the organic fibers, then impregnated with an electrolyte comprising lithium carbonate and potassium carbonate to form an electrolyte tile. A coagulating agent is added to the aqueous slurry comprising, for example, 1.5pts. wood pulp, 20pts. alumina fibers, and 80 pts. lithium aluminate, and then a sheet is formed with a paper machine. The temperature of the sheet is raised to 650 deg.C to burn out the wood pulp, then the electrolyte is impregnated in the sheet.
