Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the ignition and thermal decomposition of waste plastics by processing waste plastics thermally at a specified oxygen concentration. CONSTITUTION:The waste gas 12, of which temperature is lowered after the gas is used for heating waste plastics by blowing the hot air 22 in a volume decreasing kiln 10 heating and melting the waste plastics, is recycled through a circulating fan 14 to a hot air generator 16. The concentration of the oxygen blown through a nozzle 20 is reduced to under 15vol.% without dilution by air, by recirculating the circulating waste gas 13. In this way, the oxidation of waste plastics is prevented, and accordingly, its ignition and combustion are prevented.
