Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure favorable stability of developed color images, by producing a recording material through providing on a base a color forming layer comprising an electron-acceptive compound consisting of a specified organic acid having a phenolic hydroxyl group and a specified electron-donative colorless dye. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative colorless dye of formula I (each of R1, R2 and R3 is hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl, X is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkoxyl, halogen, nitro or substd. amino, n is an integer of 1-4, and A is an aromatic ring) and an electron acceptive compound consisting of an organic acid having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group are dispersed in a binder to prepare a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a base such as a paper and a plastic sheet, followed by drying to provide a color forming layer, thereby producing a recording material.
