Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a fast response and good output waveform by a method wherein the core comprises a first wound core having a center leg and outer leg and a second wound core placed on the center leg so as to surround a secondary winding and a control winding, said center core being provided with a third core section extending outwardly of the first wound core, and said control winding being wound around the third core section. CONSTITUTION:A voltage control transformer 10 is provided with a first wound core 12 comprising a first core section 12a, a second core section 12b and a magnetic shunt 14. A primary winding 16 is wound on the first core section 12a of the first wound core 12, while a secondary winding 20 is wound on the second core section 12b. There are provided a second wound core 22 acting as a saturable core to control the magnetic flux density of the magnetic shunt 14, and a control winding 24. The first wound core 12 is provided with a center leg 26 and outer legs 28, 30 constituting the main magnetic loop path. A third core section 12c of the center leg 26 is downwardly extending outwardly of the first wound core 12, and the control winding 24 is wound on the lower end part 12c of the center leg 26. The coil block of a secondary winding 20 and that of the control winding 24 are surrounded with the second wound core 22. By variably controlling the magnetic saturation state of the second and third core sections 12b, 12c, the magnetic flux of the primary winding 16 to be shifted to the magnetic shunt 14 can be controlled to variably control the output voltage of the secondary winding.
