Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce fluctuation of output voltage, by driving a booster chopper circuit during an interval when input voltage to a rectifier is lower than the terminal voltage of an output voltage smoothing capacitor, thereby increasing the output voltage. CONSTITUTION:Output from an AC commercial power source 12 is full-wave rectified by a rectifier 11 comprising a diode bridge through a reactor 13. Rectified voltage is smoothed through a capacitor 14, while a transistor(Tr)16 in a switching element and a rectifying diode 17 constituting a booster chopper circuit 15 together with the reactor 13 are connected between the capacitor 31 and the rectifier 11. A control means 19 comprises a current transformer 21, a function generator 23, an adder 24, a voltage control type amplifier 25, a comparator 26 and a base drive circuit 27 and turns Tr16 ON/OFF. During an interval when the output voltage lowers gradually, the booster chopper circuit 15 is driven to boost the output voltage.
