Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform toning of a black ink containing carbon black inexpensively and to impart thereto high fastness and excellent toning effect and printability, by using a copper phthalocyanine pigment obtained by a specified preparation process as a toner. CONSTITUTION:A copper phthalocyanine pigment obtained by reacting phthalic acid and/or its derivative with urea and copper or its compound in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst and benzophenone-3,3'-4,4'-tetracarboxylic acid or its anhydride or imide is used as a toner for eliminating reddishness from a black ink containing carbon black. Said phthalocyanine pigment is more economical than conventional copper phthalocyanine pigments and Alkali Blue for ink, has a blue color with a deep reddish black tint, is excellent in fastness and is more excellent in printability than Alkali Blue, so that it is a very excellent toner.
