Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the respective liquid levels in liquid reservoirs by a single sensor by admitting gas into the liquid reservoirs selectively and detecting pressure based upon air bubbles formed of the gas by a common sensor part. CONSTITUTION:Liquid, e.g. paint reservoired in the liquid reservoirs 1-7 is supplied to spray guns D1-D3 by pumps 8-14. When the amounts of the paint in the liquid reservoirs 1-7, e.g. the amount in the reservoir 1 is measured, a quantitative valve 29 corresponding to the reservoir 1 is opened. Then nitrogen from a gas supply device 36 is supplied to the reservoir 1 through a supply pipe 29a, a T-shaped pipe 37a, and a guide pipe 1a to produce bubbles in the paint liquid in the reservoir 1. The pressure based upon the bubbles is led to a measurement chamber 51a through the guide pipe 1a, a measurement pipe 44a, and a changeover valve 44. The sensor provided to the measurement chamber 51a measures the pressure based upon the bubbles and measures the liquid level in the reservoir 1 according to the pressure.
