Abstract

The guide frame 14 suspends a heat reserving lid 3 by engaging the hook 4 of the heat reserving lid 3 with the suspension ring 20 of a lift frame 6. The heat reserving lid 3 is then placed on the molten metal pot 1 with the descent of the lift frame 16. In case of removing the heat reserving lid 3 the guide frame 14 comes with its traveling by a traveling frame 10 and its suspension ring 20 is engaged with the hook 4 of the heat reserving lid 3. Then, the lift frame 16 is ascended to remove the lid 3 from the pot 1. Consequently, the lid 3 can be removed by an exclusive attaching and detaching device.
