Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable high speed and efficiency to be achieved by correcting a driving time at each dot pin, by a method wherein a specific value concerning a dot pin has been previously stored in a storage means established to a dot printing head body, and this specific value is preliminarily read at a power on reset or system reset signal offering time. CONSTITUTION:A correction circuit 11 receives a printing pattern signal b from a control circuit 10, and stores a correction value Z(i) from the same circuit 10. At the same time, the correction circuit 11 sends a delay printing pattern signal b' in which time for sending the printing pattern signal b to a driving circuit 3 is delayed based on the correction value Z(i) to the driving circuit 3. A characteristic storing part 13 in which a characteristic value Y(i) peculiar to each dot pin is stored is established to a printing head. When power on reset or system reset on closing a power source is set, the control circuit 10 reads the characteristic value Y(i), and calculates the correction value Z(i) to be stored in the correction circuit 11. When printing is commanded from an external device such as a personal computer or the like, each dot pin is driven for a driving time corresponding to the correction value Z(i) to perform printing.
