Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent faulty counting of jam generation frequency and to improve effectiveness of maintenance by prohibiting a next count-up until jam release treatment is confirmed after a jam detection means is counted up. CONSTITUTION:By CPU 200 in a control circuit, a signal from a timing roller side sensor for jam detection and a discharge sensor is inputted, when a jam is detected based on the signal, a corresponding jam display 1 or 2 is displayed and also each jam frequency in a RAM 202 is counted up. and a next count-up is prohibited until a trouble reset button is depressed. Depressing a frequency check key of the jam 1 or 2 by a service man causes a corresponding jam frequency to be displayed on a copy sheet number and jam frequency display part 101, and depressing the trouble reset button after jam release treatment is conducted and confirmed causes a copying machine to return to normal operation and the count-up of the jam frequency to be possible. Thus, faulty counting of the jam frequency can be prevented.
