Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic MR element 1 consisting of an MiFe and an amorphous soft magnetic bias auxiliary layer 3 consisting of a CoZrMo are laminated with a shunt layer 2 consisting of Ti between them. The product between the saturation magnetization of the layer 3 and the layer thickness is set to 60-90% of the product between the saturation magnetization and the thickness of the element 1. It is preferable that the thickness of the layer 3 is thicker than that of the element 1. By such constitution, the bias is stably given to the element 1, and a magneto-resistance effect type head of high output and low noise is obtained.
