Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure uniformity of printed density, by controlling an energization time for an electrothermal head based on fluctuations in a power-supply voltage. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 17 compares a voltage from a power supply 14 with references constituted of different voltages obtained through voltage division by n resistors 16. A decoder 18 converts outputs from the comparator 17 into data corresponding to an energization time for an electrothermal head 24. A counter 19 is supplied with a printing timing signal 20 as an input, and outputs a RESET signal to a CLR terminal of a D-F/F 21 when counting according to the data from the decoder 18 is finished. The energization time from the moment the timing signal 20 is inputted to a CK terminal of the D-F/F 21 to the moment the RESET signal is inputted is outputted from a Q terminal. Of this signal, only the parts corresponding to printing parts are sent to driving circuits 6 through gate circuits 23, whereby recording currents are passed to recording electrodes 4, resulting in printing. Since the energization time is controlled according to fluctuations in the power-supply voltage, uniformity of printed density is ensured.
