Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an overload operation of a pump by measuring the load amount of a motor (induction motor) to drive the pump, and providing a control device to control the operation speed of the motor to prevent the measurement value to exceed a rating value. CONSTITUTION:In a water supply system in which a check valve 2, a sluice valve 3, and a pressure tank 5 are connected to a feed-water pipe 4 which is connected to the discharge side of a pump 1 driven by a motor M such as an induction motor, a pressure detector 6 to detect the feed-water pipe 4 is provided. And the motor or the pump 1 is operated in a variable speed by controlling an inverter (not shown in the figure) to make the discharge pressure of the pump 1 to a preset specific relation depending on the detected feeding pressure and the object pressure value, in a control unit 7. In this case, the load condition of the pump 1 is detected, the detected value is compared with a specific rating value, and the scope of the variable operation of the pump is limited to make the detected value within the rating value prior to the control of the inverter.
