Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The diphenylpyridine compound of formula I (R<1> is lower alkylcarbamoyl substituted with heterocyclic group; R<2> is nitro; R<3> is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen; R<4> is lower alkyl) and its salt. EXAMPLE:2-Methyl-3-(2-morpholinoethylcarbamoyl)-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-6-ph enylpyri dine. USE:Useful as a remedy for ischemic diseases. It can be administered orally or parenterally. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting a compound of formula II (R<3>a is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen) with a compound of formula III or its salt. The starting compounds of formula II and formula III are novel and the compound of formula III can be synthesized by using a compound of formula IV and a compound of formula V as starting raw materials. The compound of formula II is derived from the compound of formula VI and the compound of formula III.
