Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly measure a characteristic by separating the time when a 3rd higher harmonic of 1MHz and a reproducing output of 3MHz appear, at the time of measuring a frequency characteristic using a multi-burst signal. CONSTITUTION:A pseudo burst signal generating circuit 11 generates a white signal, and a multi-burst signal in which sine wave signals of 1MHz, 2MHz, 3MHz, 3.58MHz and 4.2MHz are arranged, in one horizontal scanning period. By synchronizing with this pseudo burst signal generating circuit 11, a 1MHz signal ON/OFF control circuit 12 operates, and in a pseudo burst signal from the pseudo burst signal generating circuit 11, there are a period in which the 1MHz signal exists and a period in which said signal does not exist. A VTR 20 which goes to an object to be measured records this pseudo burst signal, and when the signal which is recorded at the time of measuring is reproduced, the level of a reproducing output of 3MHz cannot be measured, when a reproducing output of 1MHz exists, but the time when the reproducing output of 1MHz does not exist can be decided as a period for measuring the reproducing output of 3MHz, and the reproducing output of 3MHz can be measured surely.
