Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a compressor to attain its high speed starting by providing a layer of adsorbent with steam serving as the adsorbing medium in the periphery of a vessel in which an electric motor part and a compressor part are built. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 7 in an air conditioner is formed providing an electric motor part 9 in the upper part while a compression mechanism part 10, driven by the electric motor part 9, in the bottom part respectively in the inside of an enclosed vessel 8, and lubricating oil 11 is contained in the bottom part in the vessel 8. Here the compressor 7 provides a layer 12 of absorbent like a silicagel with a steam serving as the adsorbing medium to be closely attached to the periphery of the enclosed vessel 8, mounting a fiber-stage heat insulating material 13 to be wound in the periphery of this layer 12. After the air conditioner stops, the compressor 7 moderates its temperature decrease by heating the compressor 7 by adsorptive heat generated when the adsorbent adsorbs the steam. In this way, the compressor 7, when it is started, maintains its temperature higher than that of the outside air preventing a refrigerant from being laid up in the compressor, and high speed starting can be attained.
