Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fluid seal 9 consisting of a permanent magnet 10, pole pieces 11 and magnetic fluid 13 is interposed on the insertion opening 3 side of a bearing 5 provided between the inner circumference of a holding member 1 and a shaft 4. Meantime, a labyrinth seal 14 is provided between the outer circumference of the shaft 4 on the other side of the bearing 5 and the holding member 1 and a communication hole 18 for providing communication between the inside and the outside of the holding member 1 is formed in the holding member 1. Accordingly, even if viscosity of lubricant is low, leak of the lubricant is prevented and a sealing function can be maintained for a long time.
