Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sensor with high detection accuracy by arraying numbers of columnar inorganic piezoelectric bodies regularly on a synthetic resin matrix and forming the main body of a composite piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:Numbers of columnar inorganic piezoelectric bodies 21 are arrayed regularly on the synthetic resin matrix 22 to form the main body of the composite piezoelectric element 2. Then the composite piezoelectric element 2 which has a weight body 3 on its top surface is fixed to a pedestal 1 with a screw 4. The moment the pedestal 1 rises suddenly in a stationary state or stops suddenly in moving down, the composite piezoelectric element 2 receives compressive force on both surfaces of electrodes 23 and 24 because of the inertia of the weight body 3 mounted on the top surface. Consequently, (+) and (-) charges are generated at the electrodes 23 and 24 and measured from the potential difference between both end surfaces of th4e electrodes 23 and 24. Consequently, the extent of shock or vibration applied to a body is accurately measured.
