Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically eliminate unnecessary information on the outside of a read area by extracting the read area based on recorded information read from an information recording medium like an aperture card.
CONSTITUTION: The picture on a film F of an aperture card 20 is read by a CCD array sensor 5, and the picture read by this sensor 5 is binarized by an A/D converter 6. This binarized data is subjected to logical operation by a CPU 11a to extract a picture frame 22 on the film F. The unnecessary picture part on the outside of this extracted picture frame 22 is eliminated by an output adjusting circuit 10. Thus, unnecessary information on the information recording medium is efficiently eliminated.
